Financial Management Program
Our financial management program provides both financial services and psychosocial support to our clients. Last year, four staff members managed the finances of 97 clients, with a total combined income of more than $1.2 million.

Voluntary and personalized support
Chez Doris receives the benefits (disability, social, old age pensions, etc.) for each woman who voluntarily enrolls in this program, designed to help her better manage her finances. A staff member works closely with each participant to establish a monthly budget, pay bills and manage the remaining funds.
Our services include:
- Voluntary trust-based budget management
- Payment of regular bills (rent, services, etc.)
- Redistribution of funds according to a personalized agreement
- Ongoing psychosocial support from a dedicated staff member, who remains the main point of contact throughout the process
- Personal finance workshops
- Educational sessions on budgeting, making informed choices and planning expenses
- Annual income tax clinics
- Free assistance with filing income taxes each year, ensuring access to credits and government benefits

Annual tax clinic
Each year, Chez Doris organizes a free tax clinic for the women we support. This essential service ensures they can access the tax credits, government benefits and other financial assistance to which they are entitled. For many, it is a crucial step toward greater financial stability.
This initiative would not be possible without the involvement of qualified volunteers, which is why we are always seeking people with training in taxation to lend a hand during this period. The contribution of volunteers has a significant impact on the lives of women living in precarious situations.
We are often in need of volunteers for this important mission, as the demand frequently exceeds our resources.
