Our programs

Private Housing Program

Launched in 2022, this program is fully funded by private partners — the Azrieli Foundation, the Léger Family Foundation, the Jacques and Michel Auger Foundation, and CDPQ — and provides intensive support to women excluded from traditional social programs.

Each year, 15 women, including at least five mothers, can take part. They receive assistance in finding housing, along with funds to furnish their apartment, purchase household essentials, and stock up on their first groceries.

Since the program’s inception, 16 women and 17 children have been housed.

Rent Supplement Program (PSL)

Through a partnership with the OMHM, Chez Doris has secured 31 PSL placements, enabling women experiencing homelessness to access private or community housing at a rent geared to their income (no more than 25% of annual income).

Since January 2020, 63 women and 31 children have benefited from this program, which plays a vital role in breaking the cycle of precarity. Each woman also receives financial assistance to help her settle into her new home with dignity.

SAINT-ANDRÉ: a house with 20 rooms, each with a private bathroom. Kitchens and living rooms are located in shared common areas. The house has multiple staircases and is therefore not suitable for participants with reduced mobility. A team of caseworkers is present on-site at all times. DE CHAMPLAIN: a residence with 26 studio apartments, each with a private bathroom and kitchen. The building includes four studios adapted for people with reduced mobility, but not accessible for wheelchair users. A caseworker is available on-site, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours.
