Personal hygiene program
For a woman facing homelessness or living in great precarity, the chance to shower, dress in clean clothes, or simply tend to herself can change everything. At Chez Doris, we offer these simple acts of care with dignity and compassion.

Dignity and well-being every day
We believe that access to basic hygiene is a fundamental right. At Chez Doris, we provide women with essential hygiene services in an environment rooted in respect and dignity. In 2024–2025, these services helped hundreds of women regain a sense of comfort and privacy during challenging daily lives. Thanks to our sanitary facilities, we distributed over 7,000 hygiene kits and offered more than 7,000 showers.

Cleanliness, clothing, and self-esteem
Through our dressing room, women can choose clean, well–fitting clothing that meets their needs, while taking a moment for themselves. Access to our sanitary facilities also offers the comfort of a warm shower, helping them feel a little better in their own skin despite the challenges of daily life.
We also regularly distribute hygiene kits containing basic items — soap, a toothbrush, menstrual products, and more — so that women can care for themselves, even when they have no roof over their heads. These simple acts can bring immense relief, both physically and emotionally.

Small gestures that change everything
Our laundry program offers women the opportunity to do their washing in a structured, supportive environment. Once registered, they are accompanied to a partner laundromat. Beyond the simple act of cleaning clothes, this service helps women build essential life skills — punctuality, organization, and autonomy — all of which are key to successful reintegration.

Beauty as a source of dignity
Occasional personal care services, manicures, pedicures, haircuts, and facials, are offered because every woman deserves to feel beautiful, valued, and treated gently. These moments of wellbeing, often seen as luxuries, are in fact essential to rebuilding selfesteem. For many women, they are far more than a matter of appearance: they provide a pause, a moment of respite, and a reminder that they are worthy of kindness and respect.
