Financial management

Chez Doris’ financial management program is also available to Indigenous women who wish to regain control of their finances in a safe, respectful environment. This voluntary service helps participants plan their budgets more effectively, pay bills on time, and stabilize their financial situation with the support of a dedicated caseworker.

A flexible service, built on trust

Participants may choose to have their benefits (social assistance, disability, old-age pension, etc.) deposited directly with our organization. A dedicated caseworker then works with the participant to create a personalized plan: paying rent and utilities, redistributing remaining funds, providing ongoing budgeting follow-ups, and offering psychosocial support.

Workshops to build financial skills

The program also offers personal finance workshops designed to develop practical skills, such as identifying priorities, making informed decisions, and saving effectively.

Finally, a free annual tax clinic helps women access the benefits and credits to which they are entitled, supporting their financial stability and autonomy.
