Our Campaigns

Much more than a building, the Fulford Residence is a symbol of welcome and solidarity. This $21-million project is designed to meet the urgent needs of the most vulnerable women. To bring it to life, we must raise $8 million in private donations. Together, we can help ensure they have a safe place to call home—and keep them from the streets.

Bring Fulford back to life for the most vulnerable women

For nearly 50 years, the Chez Doris Foundation has been supporting women experiencing poverty or homelessness in Montreal. In response to growing needs, we are taking an essential next step: restoring the Fulford Residence to once again provide safety, dignity and hope.

Our goals

A landmark of women’s solidarity, Fulford has a proud history of welcome and mutual aid. By acquiring it, we are carrying this mission forward—creating a safe, inspiring, and accessible living environment, open at all times. This ambitious $21-million project aims to:

  • Raise $8 million in private donations to complete funding for the Fulford project;
  • Provide 20 transitional rooms for stays ranging from 3 to 24 months;
  • Centralize Chez Doris’ services in a secure and human-centred setting;
  • Prevent homelessness through tailored, continuous support.

With your donation, Chez Doris can continue to offer humane, comprehensive, and lasting solutions to meet the urgent needs of hundreds of vulnerable women in Montréal.

A new day centre

By bridging the gap between temporary shelter and long-term housing, the Fulford Residence will become an essential resource for Chez Doris. It will strengthen our efforts to prevent homelessness and help women regain their autonomy.

The residence will feature 20 transitional rooms with private or semi-private bathrooms, daily meals, group activities, and personalized psychosocial support. It will offer women a clear path to stability, dignity, and a fresh start.

We need your help

We still have $8 million left to raise.

Your gift will create far more than a physical space—it will bring safety, dignity and hope to hundreds of women every year. Together, let’s make Fulford a true springboard toward a brighter future.

Friends of Fulford

The Friends of the Fulford Project committee brings together dedicated volunteers from the business and philanthropic communities who devote their energy to promoting and supporting this major initiative. Their mission: to mobilize new donors and allies to help the project grow.
